Mobile Mill-and-Mix and Livestock Feed Supplier

Livestock Feed and On-Farm Milling Across Southern England

B&W Feeds is an independent family-run livestock feed business providing mobile mill-and-mix services, pre-mixed feeds and permanent Buschhoff milling systems.

Our mobile mills process suitable cereals and pulses directly on the customer's farm. Complementary ingredients, including proteins, minerals, oils and supplements, can be incorporated according to the agreed ration.

For farms that do not require mobile milling, we also produce organic and conventional livestock feeds at our Dorset headquarters. Standard and bespoke formulations are available for cattle, sheep, pigs and commercial poultry, with options for collection or delivery.

Nutrition and ration support is available to help customers consider their livestock, home-grown crops, forage and wider feeding system.

B&W Feeds operates under the feed, contractor, organic and veterinary medicines accreditations displayed on this website.

Why Consider Mobile Mill-and-Mix?

  • Use suitable home-grown crops: Incorporate cereals and pulses already grown and stored on the farm.
  • Understand the ingredients: Maintain clear visibility over the home-grown and complementary ingredients included in the feed.
  • Prepare feed around the livestock: Use standard or bespoke formulations suited to different species and production stages.
  • Access ration support: Discuss livestock requirements, forage and the wider feeding system with the B&W Feeds team.
  • Retain flexibility: Review the ration when livestock, forage, crops or farm circumstances change.
  • Maintain traceability: Keep a clear connection between the crops grown on the farm and the finished livestock feed.
  • Choose a practical discharge method: Finished feed can be discharged into suitable bins, tote bags, trailers or agreed storage areas.
  • Avoid operating a permanent mill: Access on-farm processing without the farm owning and maintaining its own milling system.

Mobile mill-and-mix will not suit every farm. Location, route availability, crop quantities, feed volume, access and storage all need to be considered.

How Mobile Mill-and-Mix Supports an Oxfordshire Mixed Farm

This mixed family farm combines approximately 1,500 acres of arable production with 150 suckler cows and 360 breeding sows.

B&W Feeds processes cereals grown by the farm and incorporates the agreed complementary ingredients to produce livestock feed on site.

The family has used the mobile mill-and-mix service for several years and highlighted flexibility, reliability and consistent ration preparation as important benefits.

This is what the family had to say about working with us:

We use B&W Feeds to utilise our own cereals from the farm which is more effective than buying in a compound. BW Feeds are flexible and come when we require to mill and mix here on the farm. They are reliable and have well trained staff which help us to make consistent rations for our animals.
